Learning from the health reform debate

So what have we learned from the health insurance reform debate?

1. Republicans are soldiers for the rich corporations of America. Their votes are bought. They are in politics for the money. They are political prostitutes, selling to the highest or at least most consistent bidders. Thus. is we want to have a government for the people of America we have to get rid of as many Republicans as is possible in the next election.

2. Some Democrats are also being bought by the by the corporations. So, we need to elect as many liberal Democrats as possible in the next election and replace conservative democrats. That way we may see good amendments to the health care bill next year.

3. It takes sixty votes to get law passed through the US Senate. If there were not sixty Democrats in the Senate we would not have a health insurance reform bill passed. Some Democratic Senators won by only a few hundred votes. So we should set a goal to have at least 70 US senators that are in favor of having socialized medicine as an optional insurance for people.

4. We learned that lowering the age for medicare is an option. But the age needs to be lowered further that to 55 as was proposed. The age seems also negotiable. We could lower it to 25. I think the bill now will cover children with working parents until they are 26. So we could get the same insurance that Senators have or we could lower the age of medicare to 25. Which would be easier to pass?

5. We learned that our system of government is a very slow to process new laws. Things change so fast these days. China can solve its problems more quickly than we can. Problems pop up and they need to be solved fast. We should consider amending the constitution to fit modern day needs.

6. Health insurance companies are not necessary for a healthy society. They are made-up part of the health care system; not crucial to the health of American society. Just another money making scheme. In a social democracy, we should just stick to what is necessary.

7. Politicians should not be allowed to take donations from corporations. Individual donations only should be accepted and should be of a limited amount. This would be another way of voting.

About Tiger

I don't know why this is in the news so much. It seems that every comedian and newscaster has him as there number one target. It doesn't surprise me when famous people have affairs. Why does it interest us? Tiger was raised to be a golfer. He started so young that I am sure he did not have a part in the decision. He was made so good at it that he couldn't see himself doing anything else. Mickey Mantle (famous baseball player) was taught to switch hit by his father and uncle when he was five years old. It is one thing to live your dream it is another to live someone else's- like your parents. But then again it is good to have a dream if you don't happen to have one of your own. What did we expect from Tiger? Most of his life was traveling. Lots and lots of hotels. A lonley life of a star athlete. Why do we blame him for seeking out comfort. He gave us such moments! Those long putts! And long drives! Let his personal life be his own. I am a little afraid what taking away this secret life might do to him. It was all that he had of himself.

How to be a Christian

Believing that Jesus Christ is your savior makes you a Christian is to believe that you can be saved and that Jesus is just the guy to do it even though he has been dead for 2000 years. Well, the truth is that you cannot be saved, you are going to suffer and there is not much you can do about it. And yes you will die, you probably will not have consciousness afterward except for the god consciousness that all things in the universe have. Jesus will not save you from death, he will not save you from suffering. In fact believing that Jesus will save you will cause you more suffering in the long run, mostly because it is a lie and lies always give on a false sense of security and lots of anxiety. So, believing that Jesus is your personal savior is not the way to be a Christian. For that we have to look at what Jesus taught and how he lived.

Jesus never married or had a family except for his disciples and the love of his live, Mary Magdalene. So right away we can say that the family life is not the Christian life and that marriage does not have to be a social contract, he can just be a personal one. Remember what Jesus about his parents when they came looking for him. Something like, they or not my father nor my mother rather you here gathered are my family. Families are constructed for the sole purpose of teaching you the way life isn't so that you can live you life in a cave like everyone else and not really seek what life is about. You will control yourself. You will not shame the family that gave you life (really? Isn't it god that gives you life) and that took care of you when you could not care for yourself (a thank you would be appropriate here) but do we really have to make the family our whole life? Do we have to accept the same beliefs they held? I think Jesus was right, the more I think about it, you family are people who have the same interests and beliefs as you do (the one's you found out for yourself). The people you attract in life and the one's you are attracted to, that is your family. This family does not indoctrinate you with beliefs their parents taught them, they do not use the power of familiarity into controlling your life so that you, in the end, have no free will. Another way to say this is that your life is not your life. This is not against communities, but you must freely choose the communities you belong too.

Another part of being a Christian is that you have to be poor. A rich man cannot enter the kingdom of heaven and entering the kingdom of heaven is just what a Christian wants to do. The kingdom of heaven is spread amongst the earth but men do not see it. Christians should believe this saying that we accredit to Jesus and must try every day to see it. This minister's that have made a lot of money selling Christianity to the poor will not enter the kingdom it is something they over look. But all the poor that they made their money off of will. I could name names but you all know who these ministers and priests are, they have been on TV and are well known Not only the rich ministers and priests but any person that has more than they need to live and live their dream.

I would define the "Kingdom of Heaven" as a state of consciousness whereby all people are seen as similar i. e. sons and daughters of god, and are treated as such. And, further, that all things made and yet unmade come from the force that made and makes all things. This beingness is not an entity separate from us but has its being in all things. When you look out upon the earth and you think about the universe you should be in awe that you live in such a place. A place that gives you air to breath, water to drink, and food to eat. A place where our planet spins without throwing anyone off and there is a sun to keep us warm and to make the stars shine.

Another thiing you must be willing to do if you want to call yourself a Christian is to give the shirt off your back to anyone that asks for it. You must give coins to beggars. This is a sign of your humanity and your knowledge that god the father has provided for you and will provide for you in the future. If someone asks for your coat, give him your shirt also.

To sum up, to be a Christian you must be single but have a companion. You must be poor and you must leave it to god to take care of you. You should not work at anything. You should spend your day doing as you like. If you have ever had periods in your life like this you will remember them with fondness, for you had no stress, you had no hatred of anyone, you had no fear, you had enough food to eat, friends to keep you company, and enough sex to keep you relaxed and happy. You don't have to read the bible, go to a Christian church, hang out with other Christians or worship god or pray. But you could do all those things, as you like. Just don't believe that doing them makes you a Christian., it could actually make you less of a Christian. It is your state of mind (how you thing about the world) and your kind acts that makes you a Christian.

Winning in Afghanistan

We can't win in Afghanistan by fighting over and trying to control the land. In a desert society it is the water that is most important. He who controls the water in the desert controls everything else. So we must fight for the water not the land. If we stop the water from getting to the enemy the the enemy will surrender. Second, we must stop the bullets. Stop the supply of ammunition. Find out where they are making it and destroy the factory. Next, stop the money. Find out who is financing the army and stop the flow of money to them. Lastly, find out why they are fighting or who they are fighting for and negotiate with them if possible. Give them half of what they want. That should do it. I think this is the way to fight a modern war. Ground fighting is too expensive and too many people get killed.

Summary and additions to SD

Things are happening. People are wondering whether we need a third party. Of course they are thinking of something to replace the Republican party. We are here to do the opposite- we are proposing a party that is more progressive than the Democratic party. We will keep the Democratic party as the "conservative party" if we are at a point when we need only to progress a little. But our party which we call the Social Democratic party will be very progressive and try to lead America into the global community. A community which we see now as socialistic and democratic. Some of our systems will be run by the government, others will be both government run and privately run. In those areas that are privately run, we will monitor them with our government so that private endeavors do not become harmful to people or to our society.

The other thing that struck me is that there is a self identified communist running (I forget where) for a seat in the local school board. The only reason this is news worthy is because he is a front runner people don't seem to mind that he is an admitted communist). When interviewed he said that he believed that workers should control the means of production. That's communist alright. Actually, this has already taken place in some American companies. We have been moving toward socialism for a long time. It has been thought for a long time that democracy naturally evolves into socialism. It is easy to see this if you are educated. But if you are not it is easier when the economy and political system can no longer support you and your family. If it is true that the development of socialism is a natural occurrence, then we are on the right course.

I have tried to help the development of socialism along by outlining some specific solutions to problems facing us that a socialist government could solve (see pbs.com/leher report, on the Dutch health system). We should solve our energy problems with solar panels and electric cars. Our health problems are solved by changing our eating habits and becoming more vegetarians with emphasis on organic farms and foods. We would make all drugs legal with government controls. After seeing Michael Moore's film about capitalism, we should also see to it that FDR's additional Bill of Rights be adopted for implementation to the U.S constitution (see movie for details). This would solve many our economic problems. Although, I should say that we will never be the America we once were. We must learn how to live poorer as the world needs more of its own resources and we are unable to steal resources from other countries. Plus the competition from China and India for markets will shrink our existing markets. It has to be a different America. Run on sun energy. Reestablished health (obesity gone, very little degenerative disease), and inexpensive health care. Everyone will have all the basics for not very much money. We will have an economy which allows for private enterprise with strict controls as to how much wealth can be accumulated. We will also have government banks to compete with the private banks. Our educational system will remain similar except that public schools will be administered by students and teachers. Another good idea that had come out this week is that we should just have one legislature like they do in England. The process by which we have to change our laws has become archaic and way too slow to react to the changing times. One chamber to discuss issues and to vote on them is enough. No long delays in committees. Actually we should have an electronic voting process whereby people vote on the Bills. Bills are written in simple language and easy to understand. But in lew of this we need a way of governing that can deal with problems that arise, quickly and efficiently. This of course will take constitutional change. I think we should throw out the supreme court since it is not a legislative body it is a political body. It should never have ruled on the Bush/Gore election. It should have said that if there are discrepancies that these should be either resolved or there should be another election. At the moment they made their decision they became a political body. Al Gore said that after that decision there was nothing he could do except maybe start a revolution. A revolution we could have used more than eight years of Bush.

Left Overs

The radical wing of the Republican Party (which now seems to be most of the Party) are left overs from the Civil War. This war we have, for the most part, put behind us. That is, most of Americans didn't grow up in that time and we find more interesting the modern ideas of our modern democracy. But for those that were brought up in the South the view of America is quite different. We have under estimated (like Bush did) the affects of war. Many families destroyed, horror upon horror of people being treated as if they were hated (they were, deeply I am afraid). Hated so deeply that they wanted to preserve that hate, they didn't want it to die. They believed that keeping this hate alive would keep the confederacy alive, until a certain time when once again the South would rise up to form its own nation. With the encouragement of the Drug companies they are now thinking that this is the time. There is a slave in the White House for god's sake. This is not acceptable. For one, our children will be exposed to a black man who is intelligent, educated, and articulate. We were against freeing the slaves and this proves us right. Second, he (Obama) is everything we've told our children the black people can not be. Making us liars to our children, (that's why we have to call him all those names, even if they are contradictory). Third, our parent's and grandparent's taught us to live for the day when the South will raise again (that's why we keep and show off our guns). If we don't fight now what have we to live for? We are genetic racists, the only way to get ride of us is to kill us. Their families were very hurt in the war. It is left to them to carry the flag of the Confederacy. We can live with left overs if we just don't give them any power. We must understand them. When one of the leading Republicans in Washington says (in response to Polsi's plea to tone down the political rhetoric) that the white southerners of the Republican right are rebelling because they are afraid that their children will not experience an America that they experienced. Well, change is like death, it is irrelevant to be afraid of it. It is so unreasonable to think that today's America is or will be the same as it was as little as 10 years ago. But it is this kind of reasoning, even from the highest levels of the left overs that propells them, drives them, and defines them.

The Id of America

Plato developed the concept of the soul. He said that justice takes place when the three parts of the soul control their respective parts. The three parts of the soul are reason, spirit, and the appetites. Freud would later call these the superego, the ego, and the id. For Plato, reason was the highest form of being. By reason he meant logical evaluation of data by formal or informal means. In this state the human being applies reason to all things. He or she lives by reasoning out their lives. By Spirit, Plato meant the emotional part of life. Honor, pride, love, and hate would all be part of the soul that would be called the spirit of the soul- the feelings that drive us to do what we do. According to Plato reason must control feeling, otherwise you have feeling controlling reason. This is a state of consciousness where the soul trying to justify its emotions with what we call excuses. For Freud, this is neurosis, the patient is having trouble dealing with reality because they are emotionally responding to it or responding to it with inappropriate emotions ("inappropriate means without reason). Therapy attemps to bring reason back into control, by reasoning out your emotions. Finally, we arrive at the most base part or the human soul, the appetites. This is our appetite for food, sex, comfort, power (pursuit of power is not a rational activity), money, and dominance (getting what we want, when we want it). In short, our basic instincts. In order to have a just society the spirit, under control of reason, must control the appetities. In a democracy, the three classes can be accounted for in the same way. The upper class is upper because they live their lives by reason, they analyize situations and come up with the best rational solution they can and then act on the situation in a rational way. The middle class is middle because they live their lives based on how they feel about certain situations, their actions are determined by how they feel, regardless of the reasonable. In TV dramas where the son is about to shoot the murderer of his father, the detectives urge him to think about what he is doing, i. e. the time they will spend in jail. If reason pervades then the avenger puts his gun down and lets the police arrest the killer. If reason does not win over, the avenger shoots the murderer but then is handcuffed and goes to jail and looses any social status. The lower class acts according to their basic needs and uses reason to that end (here reason is in the control of the appetities). And so it is in America today. The people opposing the health care reform bill with a public option are, without reason, in fact against all reason, since reason would say that since they are the most in need of inexpensive health insurance that they should support it, a rational person always supports or acts in a way that is in support of his or her efforts to improve their lives or improves the lives of others. So, America has unleased its beast. With a weak middle class (spirit) unable to control the lower class (appetites) we now have in America an unjust society. An America where a president trying to help the poor is admonished and ridiculed for trying to do so by the poor his is trying to help. It is left to be seen whether reason through an imaginary and dwindling middle class can over come the tea baggers, the birthers, and the hate Obamaers.

Argument against taking swine (Mexican) flu vaccine

1. The vaccine was made from the virus that existed about 2 to 6 months ago. All virus continue to mutate (change). The vaccine will not develop antibodies that will fight a new strain.

2. The idea behind the vaccine is that it will expose your immune system to a small amount of the virus thereby allowing you to develop antibodies that are ready to fight the virus if it enters your body. This assumes that your immune system is strong enough to make the antibodies. If it is not you will get the flu. If your immune system is very week you will become very ill.

3. If your immune system is strong enough to make the antibodies then it will be strong enough to make them if you come in contact with the virus.

Wallgreens is charging $25 to inject the vaccine into you. If only 10 million out of the 300 million take it, it will make 25 million dollars for the drug companies and its distributors minus costs. Think of the world wide money that is going to be made. All the news channels carried the story of the swine flu. The numbers did not bare out the massive problem they tried to portray. More people died of the regular flu than from the swine flew. Kids that got sick from the flu went back to school within a few days. Look at the facts. Try not to be frightened. It's hard when you see people with masks over their faces. My theory is that the drug companies invented this campaign (not directly, government and officials were persuaded) to make some money. If you get the flu I recommend chicken soup and plenty of rest. Miso soup is also very good (Japanese take out). Take the herbs that are immune system boosters, Echinacea and Golden Seal. Double up on your vitamins. Take Plum Balls (order from Eden.com), ten per hour until symptoms subside. They are feeding on your fear of death. Someone taught you to fear death. Death is inevitable, a human truth, so to fear it is irrelevant.

What kind of legislation do we need?

We have established that health is a human beings most important quality. A healthy human is a free human, a happy human and a content human. And we have said that food is primary to health. So what? Well the implications of these "truths" if you will allow it is that we need to protect our food if we want to be healthy. Since food is soil manifest (primarily in vegetable form, secondarily in animal form), that is all food comes from soil (earth) then the first thing we need to do is to protect our soil. We will not be able to grow vegetables in soil which is nutrient depleted or which is so polluted that it kills anything that touches it. Second, we need a system of agriculture that replenishes all the nutrients that it uses to grow vegetation. I think this has been called "sustainable" agriculture. It just means we don't deplete the soil to grow our food, we replenish it with as much as we take out. Organic farmers already know how to do this. We don't practice sustainable agriculture not because it is too expensive but because it is not expensive enough. The chemical corporations make tons of money poisoning our soil with bug killers and artificial fertlizers which make crops grow faster by making the earth give up its minerals faster than it can restore them. If only we lived in a rational world, how much easier life would be. We therefore conclude the health of the earth is equal to the health of everything living on it. Imagine that the earth is health and is giving us healthy food. Now what do we do with it. Two things we must avoid is we are to stay health. Irradiated food (micowaves) and genitcally modified food. So even if the earth is giving us its best food we can still fuck it up. Both of these attempts to destroy our food quality do so by altering the molecular structure of our food. Now, reason that our bodies are expection food of a certain molecular composition and a certain vibration and they get something unrecognizable what will it do. It will unlease its immune system on these "foriegn" substances ("but I only ate a carrot") until it destroys them. So, what you get is your immune system fighting the food you eat for norishment! By doing these two things to food, nuking it and changing its genetic makeup, you over tax the immune system (wear it out) and you create autoimmune diseases of unknown names ("what's going on with me doc?" "I dunno.") President Obama has gotten some critizm from the natural food community for appointing a pro genetic food modifier to head the Department of Agriculture, even though his campaign promise was at least to label food that have been genetically changed. He has not moved on the issue since he became President. This issue will be the main world issue and battle with food producers in the year to come. This issue and the BlackWater issue (the fact that we are still using a private army to fight our battles and for national security are like dark clouds hanging over the Obama administration. Getting back to health. The purpose of revising our health insurance policy is to make heathcare more accessible to more people and to cut costs. These are admirable goals but do not address the core issues of our health and the health of those to come. We need legislation that protects the integrity of our food. Specifically, we need laws that protect our farm land from being poisened. We need to outlaw the manufacture and use of microwaves. A law prohibiting the irradiation of our food would be in order. We have to have a law that stops the gentic mutilation of our food. These are the first steps to securing the health of America and the rest of the World. You can help now by not purchasing or using microwaves. Do not purchase irradiated food if you can identify it (big problem) and don't buy gentically changed food again, if you can find out which fruits and vegetables have been grown with modified seeds. A good habit would be to buy organic food when you can.

Real Health Insurance

The most important factor in maintaining your health is the food you eat. Nature has it laid out for you what foods you should and should not eat. You only have a few teeth to tear meat so you should not eat much of that. You have many teeth for biting (chopping) and grinding so you should eat from the families of food that you can easily bite into and can chew without too much effort. These foods come for the vegetable family of foods. Except for those vegetables that are too acidic to be healthy. Real health insurance is relative to how much vegetables you eat. You never see things on packages of meat that say "high in vitamins and antioxidants." The reason we eat so much meat in America is because we were taught to by our parents and they by theirs. My Dad used to like have a barbecue every week because it established him as wealthy enough to buy meat. He never considered that the cholesterol would clog his arteries and eventually kill him. It had to do when he was working on the railroad and all the poor workers were eating beans and rice and the bosses were cooking up some meat (beef, pork, or chicken). When he saw that, he made the conclusion that the successful in America ate what cost more, irregardless of the value of the food in terms of health. Another thing about eating meat. It is sometimes portrayed on TV and in movies that cowboys used to eat meat on the trail while transporting the beef to slaughter. Of course there was no refrigeration on the trail so what kept for days and days? Beans and grain products. America was always a more vegetable eating country until the Europeans brought their diet to America, heavy with meat and fat. It is killing them now. The lie that cowboys ate mostly beef gives beef that "this is how America (at least the West) was won," and makes it one of the principle foods for "real America." So far, if your rich you eat meat and it you are a 'real American,' you eat beef. Pretty powerful psychological messages that can easily shape food choices. Now add the fact that your mother and father taught you to eat eggs and meat for breakfast (if they were rich enough) and we can understand completely why America eats the way it does. You have to get sick (deathly ill) to wake up and start to question if the things you thought were true (is animal food really good for you?) are really true. So, my insurance policy is really a policy. It is based on the principles The first one is that the better your food, the better your health. "Better" in terms of food means, organic, fresh, non-animal, supplying all nutrients that our science has proved to be necessary to our bodies, locally grown (as much as possible,) ("locally" means with in the same temperate zone, this means if you live in California, you can eat things grown in Japan but not in Chile. Check out a map to figure out what zone you live in.), vegetable quality (grains, fruits and veggies, beans, nuts and seeds etc.), non-processed, non-chemical (very filtered food), non-additive (although not organic, Original Fritos have only corn flour, oil, and salt, compare to the flavored one's). Another principle is try to eat less food. You'll be amazed how sharp you mind stays when your blood is in you head and not in your stomach. Less mental error. Less accidents. Less food less work for your body, less loss of energy, less chance for getting sick. Eat until you are 3/4 full then stop. Save the rest for later, give it away, or save it for your dog. Third principle, eat when hungry, drink when thirsty. If you don't get hungry until two in the afternoon then don't eat until then. Food tastes really good when you are hungry. If these principles are too hard to understand or you have objections to them, do as I have said in earlier writings. Get the pamphlets from the Cancer, Heart, and Kidney societies and eat as they recommend, they have put more research into their recommendations, then your parents ever did. If it's hard to be different just tell everybody you are precancerous (everybody is) and your doctor told you to eat this way. It is either this or poor health. You choose.

Changing Health Insurance

John McCain said that the President stated that no one will lose the insurance they have but if a small business owner decides to change his insurance from a private insurer to the public option that the workers for that company will have to change insurers, i. e. from the private insurer to the public option. I don't think this is what Obama meant. He (Obama) meant that if you pay for insurance that you will not be forced to drop you insurance and choose the public option. If I was getting my health insurance from my employer (not paying for it myself) then what would I care if the employer goes for a public or private option? As long as me and my family can see a doctor and get the medicines we need do I really care who the insurer is? In the absolute sense the seniaro that John McCain portrays is true and does contradict what was said in the absolute sense. The insurance will change. But the fact that you are insured doesn't. So, again, McCain, like he did so many times in his campaign for the presidency misses the important point to make a point which is true but not relevant to the argument. This is all he's got?

Racism in America

Those schools that are not showing Obama's message to school children, and those parents who are keeping their children home from school for the purpose of keeping them from viewing a black president are racists. How do I know? No school refused to show Ronald Regan's address to school children. It was on the benefits of not taxing the rich. Ronald Regan was white. Therefore, white presidents can address school children and black presidents cannot. This is racism in America. It still exists. The crime is that some children will not have the chance to be encourage to stay in school (Obama's speech was prereleased, not required of Regan) and are still at the mercy of the racist indoctrination of their racist parents and community. And the real price we pay for discrimination of trival differences is that the best minds of our country end up on drugs or in jail and our country is left to be run by the like of the Bushes and other dumb Republican legislators who make poor decisons and if in the majority take us all down with them. The dream of America is Plato's dream. That the golden children will be raised up and will lead us with impeccable logic and insight and foresight. That whether they come from rich or poor communities, Black or White communities, Hispanic or Jewish communities, these persons made of golden will be our leaders and show us how to live. Obama is not great because he is black, he is great because he is golden.

Toward a Democratic Socialist Party

Bill Maher said that the Democratic party is the new Republican party. What did he mean by that? I think he meant that the Democratic party was the only viable party in America but it wasn't the liberal democratic party that was once the pride and joy and hope of the world. Maher favors the legalization of Marijuana for example. Obama has said he does not favor legalizing drugs. So, what it seems we need if America is to progress, is one party that progresses slowly and one that would push America a little faster down the progressive path. One thing this party could stand for is the legalization of all drugs with government oversight and government taxes. We tax ciggaretts and alchohol don't we? Many of the 1st world countries have dealt with drug problems much better than we have. We have a drug war in Mexico funded by the American people for gods sake. The psychology of the drug problem is the same as with the alcohol problem. If we had a decent diet and we treated each other well, and we didn't have so much stress, we probably would not have much of a drug or alcohol problem. Another thing the Democratic Socialist party could push is a mostly vegetarian diet. There is enough research (like the research on smoking) to show this is the best diet for humans. Futurists are predicting that we will all be vegetarians (or nearly so) in the future. If we just look at the diets for the major "societies" i. e. the cancer society, you can see where the American diet is going. When we get sick it seems we turn to near vegitarianism for help. So what would happen if we turn to it as preventative medicine. If a vegetarian diet can help after you are sick then there must be little in it that will make you sick, unlike the high fat American diet. How do we legislate vegitarianism? We write legislation to support organic farmers (we will support the small farmer not allow farming to become a big corporation, more on this later). We decrease support for the milk and dairy industries. We reduce government support for the meat industries excluding fish. If we are going to have some meat in our diet then fish is our best choice, mostly because it is the furthest animal away from us in evolution. We will also use our monies to teach how to cook and eat vegetarian. We will also use media (like we did for smoking) to show the benefits of an organic vegitarian lifestyle. There are more issues the DSP should stand for and I hope to discuss them all before I am through. I'd like to end this blog with a little psychological advice. Instead of spending so much time destroying the Republican party (which is imploding), why not spend more time talking about the issues that a new party, a DSP could support? Maybe we could even have a candidate by 2020. There is much work to do. Let the discussion begin.

Two arguments for a socialized health care system

First, we already have a socialized educational system. There are public schools financed by the government and there are private schools that are non-profit or for profit organizations. It does not seem as though the quality of our private school system has suffered because of the existence of our public school (socialized) system. There are many outstanding Universities in the private university system, Stanford, USC, Michigan, to name a few. There are outstanding high schools and outstanding private schools (like the one the Obama children attend). The reason for the public schools system is to provide access to education for every American, child or adult. Some say that our university system and community college system are the best in the world. The competition between the private sector and public sector seem to produce a good product not a lessor product. So now, what do we say is more important, education or health? Do we say to our children, "Well, I know your sick, you are vomiting and you have a fever of 105 (f) but you know your education is more important that your health so I am sending you to school anyway?" Of course we don't. We take them to the doctor. We wait until they are healthy again and then we send them back to school. Health is more important than education. It is more important than making money. In fact, a society based on the health of every individual would be the best kind of society. Our society today is structured around its individual members being sick. Our fatty food diet is designed to make us sick and to keep us sick. It is designed to keep doctors and nurses and other heath care givers in high demand and at high salaries. It is designed to keep the medicine companies in the high profit categories. If you want to reverse this basis for America you will have to fight for it. Money is not easily given up in America. So, to go back to my analogy with the educational system. If we can make education accesible to everyone by a socialized process then why wouldn't we make health (which we know is more important to a society and individual than is education) accessible to every American? Reason would say we must. Polititcs says we should not or maybe. Will reason prevail? Have we arrived at the age of reason or is this the age of politics. Reason should drive our politics but it does not. Emotion drives our politics but it doesn't need to. Emotion is not necessary to politics it is adhoc to politics. When you have done the right thing, acted correctly, you feel good (like when medicare passed or when the civil rights bill passed). I don't see how any Republican or Democrat can feel good about not supporting a government funded (taxpayer funded) accessible health care system. Another argument I must deal with is the argument it is possible for the private sector to provide accessible (public) health care for everyone. Well if they could why haven't they done it yet? And if they haven't done it how can we trust that they will do it? The capitalistic basis for the health care system described above is profit. How will the profit motive all of a sudden change to a altruistic motive?

Second, Obama was too good of a salesman when he was running for President. He told us of a health care insurance that was paid for by the taxpayer. It is a government health insurance that pays to the health care of government employees (yes even the congressmen and congresswomen who oppose socialized health care!). Obama asked: Now why can't you taxpayers who pay for this insurance not be able to subscribe to it just like Joe and I do? Why indeed. We already pay for health insurance with our taxes so why shouldn't we be able to enjoy what we pay for? Fair enough. Why didn't someone tell us about this earlier? It all seem great. We elect Obama as president, we elect enough Democrats to support his efforts to get us this health insurance we already pay for. Good. Done. Well, not quite. We forgot that politicians can be bought, like any commodity (they should trade them on the stock exchange). So now the insurance companies own enough Congressmen and Congresswomen so that there is not enough votes for us to get the health insurance we already pay for. Now what do we do? We do what ever we need to do. We are fighting for our health and the health care for future generations. How important is that to you? One other argument that the opponents to heath care are using is the cost. We can spend billions on war and billions on the economy but we can't spend billions on our own heath? What lunacy is this? People are hocking their homes and life savings for health treatment and the government is worried about going into debt? We have been in debt before and we have always paid our debts. I don't think future generations will mind pay a debt for health care for war yes, they will curse Bush for many years to come. People are losing their lives because they have no insurance to pay for health care and the government is worried about money, money they have or can borrow? Is there any parent out there who would not beg borrow or steal to get there kids the health care they need? If there is anything worth getting into debt for it is heath care. As I said in the beginning it is the most important thing we have, our most prized possession. Don't you agree? Besides, Obama has explained that the very rich will pay for most of the health care for the poor. Justice. The poor and their labor is what make the rich so rich.

The Two Wars of Obama

Obama is fighting two wars. Both are religious wars financed and encouraged by the world corporations. In Afghanistan he is fighting the Taliban, a radical Islamic group. In the U. S. Obama is fighting the Radical Christian right. Both groups are supported financially by the corporations. The rich corporations prey on the uneducated and hopeless populations who are easily manipulated by high tech brain washing. Who else would believe that, if he is a suicide bomber, there will be 20 virgins waiting to be deflowered by him when he gets to heaven? Who else would believe that Obama is Hitler-like and instituting a Nazi regime? The deperate, the hopeless, the poor, and the rich who will outright lie to keep their riches. If anybody looks like a Nazi regime it is the Republicans. They govern by fear, like the Nazis did. There goal (through the corporations they work for) is world domination through war and terror, just like the German Nazis. The are all very German looking (except for a manipulative few), white males. If I didn't know better I would think that all the German officers escaped to America and joined the Republican party and worked within it until they had control. Remember when religion wasn't part of politics? Ministers were concerned with the daily problems of the church members not of the politics of Washington. I'll bet there were clergy that helped some of there parishioners to get an abortion (I'll bet there still are). Then somehow the churches (especially of the south) were politicized and there began the political polarity we now see manifested. Back in the day the Kennedy's (John, and Bobby) were concerned by the disparity of the educated and the uneducated in America. It seemed the educated were for progress and change and the uneducated being fearful of loosing what they had, opposed it. The veteranos who came back from WWII got educated through the GI Bill and became progressive and actively sot change. Since many of the GI's were minorities many became interested in the rights of minorities in America. The uneducated sot to oppose any change, fearing the loss of life they knew. Gov. Wallace and the South opposed integration. The Federal Government forced integration. The benefits of that act are self evident. The government should force socialized health care on America. The benefits will again become self evident.

Energy policy

I tried to put solar panels on the roof of my home, but I couldn't afford it. It would have taken me 50years to recoup my investment but I still couldn't get the credit for the project. And, I found out that the utility companies are not buying the extra electricity like they were at first but now you have to use any credit you accumulate by the end of the year or it goes to the utility company. It doesn't seem enough just to free us up from foreign oil we have to become self sufficient. We have to become free of foreign energy and free from the energy of the utility companies. Everyone is lining up to sell America energy, foreign companies are leasing great parcels of land to develop sun energy. T Bone, Pickens is buying large parcels of land to run wind energy to sell you. And the utility companies are preventing any kind of legislation that will move us toward an alternative energy system. I propose that our party adopt a policy of individual self sustaining energy. By this I mean that I think that if the federal government would subsidize the placing of solar panels on every home in America our energy problems would be solved. By "subsidize" I mean pay for. Here's the deal. The governemt would, in a sense, lease the roof tops of all American homes. They would pay for the installation, and maintenance of solar panels on everyone's home. Each American would get solar energy for free for allowing the government to use their roofs. However, the government would then be allowed any excess electricity. The electricity would then go to a main station where it would be distributed around the country according to priority and need. Oops there goes the nuclear power plants. Oops there goes the coal burning industries. We then develop a car that runs on electricity, who's batteries are charged by... solar panels. No need for oil. Pollution is down to almost zero (we still have the cows to deal with, but if we go vegitarian, drinking no milk...). This solution is good because there is no buying of energy. Through our industry we have made our own, and through our government we can intelligently distribute it for our needs. This can be applied nationally as well as globally. Even though there may be special problems for those that live in areas with little sun. We may have to learn

how to transfer energy from the places with mucho sun. Star Trek, here we come.
