The Arizona Bill

If you were a police officer in Arizona and you were given the job of stopping anyone who was suspicious of being illegal, what criteria would you use to determine who to stop and who not to stop? Would you stop anyone who wore a sombero? How about wrinkled clothes? Even if you went into hotels and restaraunts you would only check the Mexican looking people. Being Mexican would be more suspicious than being white or black. So that's how the new immigration bill in Arizona ends up doing racial profiling there is no other way to decided whether someone may be illegal just by how they appear. Appearance, as John Locke would say, is a secondary quality and nothing can be derived from it except the appearance itself. If Arizona wanted to cut down on its crime (which is a very big industry nowadays and another reason they want to "lock up" illegals instead of just deporting them) I would recommend passing two laws. One to outlaw guns in Arizona and the other to legalize illegal drugs, like marajuana. Rather than do these two things they are going after the bottom rung of people in America. People with no rights, little money and little status. I guess the sun has finally got the white's of Arizona. They have gone mad and have become cruel. Now pretend you are an illegal living in the US. Unless you were an assassin or some how affiliated with the drugs war in Mexico, would be more likely to commit a crime and face jail time and deportation or would you be more likely not to draw attention by going to work, paying your debts and taxes and overall stay low and not draw attention to yourself? I would do the latter.
